Make our Mum's Happy!

happy mother's day, KAPAMILYA!

BnT shares in the celebration of this centuries-old tribute to mothers all over the world.

Mother's Day's origin can be traced back to an ancient Greek festival to worship the great mother of gods, Cybele, and Rhea, the wife of Cronus.

In the U.S., Mother's Day was first proclaimed in 1870 in Boston by Julia Ward Howe's Mother's Day Proclamation, and Howe called for it to be observed each year nationally in 1872. As originally envisioned, Howe's "Mother's Day" was a call for Pacifism and disarmament by women. Early "Mother's Day" was mostly marked by women's peace groups. A common early activity was the meeting of groups of mothers whose sons had fought or died on oppoaite sides of the American Civil War.

Today, however, this special day is celebrated in other countries through several ways: flower-sending, card-writing, treating mothers to a special meal in her favorite restaurant, or cooking something special for mum one's own home.

Whatever you have in mind for your own mum, Kapamilya, the most important ingredient for a meaningful celebration should be there: unconditional love and gratitude for the woman who brought us into this wonderful world of living, laughing, crying, giving, hugging, dancing, grieving, and caring!!!

Happy celebrating everyone! I LOVE YOU ALL!!! {",
